PBR Materials Series: Iridescent

Level: Beginner | Category: Rendering

Clarisse 3.0 introduces a new Physical (physically based) shading model which consists of a new Path Tracer renderer and new set of materials, volumes and lights. In the PBR Materials Series, we'll cover the new set of materials released with Clarisse latest version.

In this video, you'll learn how to use the iridescent material. This material is both reflective and iridescent, it reproduces the specificity of surfaces which change of color in function of the angle of view or the angle of light by simulating thin film layers separated by thin air spaces, making a rainbow effect like on soap bubble, sunglasses or butterflies wings.
