Technical Artist

Job Description:

We’re looking for someone passionate about the visual effects and animation industry with a confirmed experience as a Generalist or Lighting TD working on feature films, commercials, or animated series, who loves to work on a fast-paced environment and who will actively participate in the growth of our software adoption within the Industry.

The role

Led by the Lead Technical Artist, and working in pair with a Sales representative, you’ll help develop and build a portfolio of loyal customers by taking part in business tours and bring your technical expertise by providing presentations and proposing solutions to fit customer needs.  You will help customers integrate and improve the integration of the company’s solutions into their pipeline via on-site or remote training and support through our website and our community forums.

Depending on needs, you will also demo our products remotely or in public during international exhibitions, user groups, workshops,  roadshows and directly on clients premises.

Collaborating closely with our R&D Teams and the Product Manager, you will take part in improving our software by helping our engineers design new features and solve creative problems based on your experience and customer feedback. You’ll also benchmark regularly our software to report its performance evolutions, issues and improvements to the engineering team.

Working closely with the Marketing Team you will create and improve promotional materials highlighting new features, including: training contents, product demo, marketing images, video tutorials, white papers (feature tech specs) and technical presentations to support sales. You will also be involved with the writing of the user documentation.

Depending on your profile, you may also work on Python scripts, shaders or rigs that may be shipped with the product.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep expertise in rendering engines, high end 3D DCCs and compositing applications
  • Ability to proactively stay up to date with 3D technology trends
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent understanding of VFX/Animation pipelines and workflows
  • Bilingual in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, be comfortable with public speaking and ability to listen
  • Ability to convince, reassure and build strong relationship with customers based on trust
  • Ability to travel as needed (worldwide trips on a regular basis)

R&D DEVELOPER: Rendering/Image processing position

Department: R&D

Location: HQ (Montpellier, France)

Job Description:

As a member of the R&D team, and led by your lead, you will have to develop the core features of our high-end professional graphics software. You will be part of the Clarisse Team, our flagship product, and contribute with your own ideas to identify, propose and implement innovative technology development and solutions. You'll also participate to the software support through our community forums.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree in Computer Science
  • 5+ years of industry experience using C/C++ as programing language
  • Written English is required
  • Experience of writing plugins for 3D DCC such as Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini… is a plus.

Candidates profile:

Deep understanding of multithreading and its technical challenges.
You are familiar with SDK development and you like technical interaction with software end users.
You can develop on all platforms and you are familiar with cross platform environment (portable code, CMake).
Experience in the Cinema and video games industries is a plus.

Job Description:

Our tester will be in charge of checking all parameters related to the use of our software, detecting bugs, providing recommendations, and pre-publishing the company’s software. The tester must also have good communication skills in French and English, be rigorous and demonstrate a great team spirit.

Our tester will :

- Test new features and workflows, verify bug fixes, design test cases and execute test plans to report on software quality
- Carry out production workflow style testing working with real assets from the VFX industry
- Report to the QA Lead, work closely with other QA testers, technical artists and engineers to ensure that the features and fixes meet the specified requirements.
- You may also be asked to liaise with clients to simplify production assets to pinpoint reproducible cases, provide support and devise workarounds.

While the role requires manual testing, there will be extensive involvement in automated testing. Using Python, you will look for ways Clarisse QA can be automated.

The candidate must have experience in 3D modeling, look dev, lighting, rendering and scripting
