Details of the challenge

We are super excited to bring the first challenge of 2021 to the community! To give you some fun during these hard times, we paired up with Ludovic Iochem, Head of CG at DNEG and the guy behind Keep Calm I’m In VFX! Your mission is to recreate the iconic Death Star trench using Clarisse of course!  If you are new to Clarisse, this is a great opportunity to learn everything our software has to offer. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Clarisse license, you can still participate using our free Personal Learning Edition! If you’re already a Clarisse fan, then it's the perfect time to share your work with the community and win a prize! 

Two winners will be selected. Each will win a one year Clarisse Indie License (or two year of maintenance renewal for customers owning a permanent license)! We can’t wait to see the amazing work you are going to create! ! Submissions must be posted in the Keepcalm challenges section of the Keep Calm I’m In VFX Discord server. The winners will announce during a livestream!

You have until april 17TH to submit your work.

Rules of the challenge

Prizes

Both winners will get a one year Clarisse Indie license. Existing customers owning a permanent indie license of Clarisse will win two years of maintenance renewals.

Jury

There will be two winners selected in this challenge, one by community vote, and one chosen by Ludovic Iochem. 

The community can vote on the Keep Calm I’m in VFX Discord by liking their favourite image. The submission with the most votes will be elected the community winner.

Ludovic Iochem will choose another winner, based on both technical and artistic aspects of the submissions.

Rules

The challenge is open to any artist.
There can be only one submission per individual artist.
The submission has to be created using Clarisse for set dressing, lookdev, lighting and rendering. 

Deadline

The challenge starts on April 2ND and the deadline for submissions is April 17TH

Eligibility

Artists participating in the challenge must have an account registered on isotropix.com. Entry is exclusively limited to individual artists. 

Terms of Submission

There can only be a single submission per individual artists for this challenge. Submitters retain copyright of all submitted materials and are free to use their submitted materials for personal promotion. However, submitters agree to grant all the sponsors of the challenge and Isotropix the rights to use all entered materials in any media for sales and marketing, provided that the credit to the submitter is clearly visible with submitted materials. Submission must be original artworks specifically created for the challenge.

Work in Progress

During the duration of the challenge, we invite artists to post their work-in-progress materials on the Keep Calm I’m In VFX Discord in the challenge discussion section. 

Final Submission

The final submission must be a watermark-free 16:9 horizontal ratio image. It should be posted on the Keep Calm I’m In VFX Discord in the Keepcalm challenges submission section. The minimum resolution of the image file should be 1,920px per 1,080px. You shall also provide a couple of screenshots of your work in Clarisse proving it was created in it.

Winners Announcement

One of the winners will be selected by the majority of votes by the community on the Keep Calm I’m In VFX Discord, and the other winner by Ludovic Iochem based on the technical and artistic aspects of the work.
The winners will be announced during a live Twitch by Ludovic Iochem, where he will review all submissions before announcing the winners.

Disqualification

Any image deemed to contain content that depicts racial, political, religious or any other inflammatory material in an inappropriate manner may be disqualified and removed. Interpretation of what is, and is not, appropriate material is the sole discretion of Isotropix team. Any submission that doesn’t follow these rules will drive the participant to be disqualified.
